Bald is Beautiful!

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

In 2020 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer stage ll, I started chemotherapy right away, and even though the doctors prepare you by telling you that you will lose your hair nothing prepares you for actually losing your hair. I had no hair for 8 months while in treatment. I was embarrassed and self-conscious and losing your hair hurts. It hurts your heart and your scalp. I wish that I would have thought of this when I went through the loss of my hair but now with all my experience, I want to give back to the cancer community. With my awesome friend Bryan we started making these awesome and fun surgery caps to share with the patients at the hospital, he works. Bryan is a patient service associate and works closely with cancer patients by delivering their meals. He gets to talk to the patients daily and hears their stories of the same pain I felt when losing their hair. One day we decided to put my sewing skills and his great customer service together and started making these surgery caps. It started with just one cap and it grew to over 100. You too can make a difference by either donating to the cause or buying a cancer cap. All funds go to making more of these surgery caps for cancer patients. Thank you for reading our story of how this great organization started and God Bless.
